Richard Pilcher

Richard Pilcher graduated in 2000 from the Alexander Alliance training program in Philadelphia, and has continued his studies with various teachers since then. He has been the principal acting instructor in the Theatre Department at the Baltimore School for the Arts since it opened in 1980, and he also maintains a professional career as an actor and director. In addition, Mr. Pilcher coaches actors for auditions and specific roles. As a continuing student of taiji (tai chi) and qigong, he has studied with internationally recognized teachers.

Richard works with performers (actors, singers, musicians, dancers, etc.) who want to work at their highest level, with the greatest freedom and ease possible. He also works with clients who have issues around pain – stiff necks, backaches, headaches, and so forth. While not a quick fix for acute pain, Alexander Technique can often help individuals discover habits that lead to or exacerbate such problems.

Richard teaches in his studio in Parkville. Contact him at pilchers3@gmail.com.
